Selection
How the recipient is chosen.
Each year, we read every application ourselves. We look, in order, for a clearly imagined dream, evidence of years of quiet commitment, a trajectory that suggests potential, and the kind of character that shows in unwatched moments. There is no interview panel, no rubric of prestige. Just a small circle of people trying, honestly, to find one person who has already earned the belief.
Transparency
What we will always publish.
The name of the recipient, if they consent. The amount awarded. The date it was sent. Any expense the fund incurs. If a year passes and no one is chosen, we will say so, and why. Silence would be easier. It is not the point of this.
Financial Reporting
One page, once a year.
A single annual note: what came in, what went out, and where. Not a glossy report. A record — kept plainly, so that a reader in 2127 can still trust the ledger.
Conflict of Interest
Family and friends do not apply.
Anyone with a personal, professional or financial relationship to the founder or the advisory board is ineligible. The fund exists to reach people we do not already know. Any exception would end the reason for its existence.
Long-Term Stewardship
Built to outlast us.
The fund is founder funded today. Over time, it will be placed inside a structure — legal, financial, and human — designed so that no single person's presence or absence can interrupt the annual promise.
Advisory Board
A small circle, in time.
In the coming years, we will invite a small group of thoughtful people — from education, the arts, science, and community work — to help read applications and steady the fund's judgement. Their names will appear here when they do.
